Cadaver is a rectilinear abstraction of the human body, crafted from three distinct types of wood to represent the mind, body, and soul. The table’s asymmetric sides reference the head and legs, while a shelf compartment with 24 columns symbolizes the ribs of the human form. Designed and fabricated in Scott Peltzer’s Product Design Wood Working course, Cadaver investigates how subtlety and expression can be achieved through planar materials.
